Zbigniew Waszkielewicz – actor, director, pedagogue, animator of culture.
Graduated from the Department of Acting of the State College of Drama (PWST) in Cracow in 1974. After 12 years of professional experience as actor and also director in the drama theatres (Ziemia Pomorska Theatre in Grudziądz, Jaracz Theatre in Olsztyn, Solski Theatre in Tarnow, Wyspiański Silesian Theatre in Katowice) he started his own activity under the name IOTA Theatre.
In 1995 he moved the IOTA Theatre from Katowice to Radzie village located in Mazury, where he settled down. On the 10 hectare land he organises outdoor spectacles, theatrical and interdisciplinary workshops.

Apart from his own creative work, he also occupies himself with art education:

• in 1978-84 he led a pantomime theatre „VIDE” at Silesian University in Katowice.
• in 1993-2001 he lectured at the Academy of Physical Education in Katowice, directing his own didactic program: “Theatrical Study of Movement and Sound”; he worked as a co-ordinator of this major and gave lectures on “theatrical expression”;
• in 1991-94, he founded and managed a three-year private Mime Actors’ Studio;
• he organises theatre workshop for teenagers (finalised with public presentations), among others in Bytom, Gizycko, Gołdap, Jelenia Góra, Katowice, Cracow, Oświecim, Suwałki, Tarnow, Warsaw, as well as abroad - at the University of Essen and the Damascus Academy of Drama;
• he organises methodical workshop for teachers (Katowice, Essen, Ełk, Suwałki) with themes: ranging from theatre experience in human culture development; theatre of word; theatre of movement; basic issues of staging; history of Theatre.

In Katowice, he conceived a programme formula for the festival ‘Meetings of Vision and ImageTheatre’, acting as an art director of the event’s three consecutive editions (1986, 1988, 1991), for which he was awarded with a Golden Mask.

An author, director and producer of the project “The Great Lakes Outdoor Meetings” Mazury Festival, an aftermath of the second-place award of S. Batory Foundation Competition for the best cultural projects for a local community (2000-2001).

With IOTA Theatre he participated in many festivals, among them:
